Biographies

Tian Liang

8 year old Tian Liang studies at Christ Church Grammar School. He started piano lessons at the age of 4 and joined Yoon Sen Lee Music School in 2016 and is currently with Ivy Chan and Yoon Sen Lee. Over the past years, Tian has obtained various top prizes at the local eisteddfods, including North of Perth Music Festival, South Suburban Music Society Eisteddfod, Fremantle Eisteddfod and the WA Pianists Competition. In 2018 Fremantle Eisteddfod, Tian made a historical record by being the youngest ever to win first prize in the under 15 concerto section. Besides performing in eisteddfods, Tian performs at local community concerts and also made his debut concert performance in Xiamen, China in 2017. He is part of The Bridge Choir and he also enjoys composing.

Hannah Wang

9 year old Hannah started piano lessons at 3 and half and in Jan 2014, Hannah came under the tutelage of Yoon Sen Lee. Hannah completed her grade 8 AMEB piano performance exam at the age of 7 in 2015 and obtained Honours (A grade). Hannah is a student at the Methodist Ladies College, where she also performs regularly in piano recitals at her school. She has also been playing the violin since age 4 and completed the AMEB Violin Grade 4 Exam at the age of 5 with Honours (A grade). She currently plays in her Methodist Ladies College Symphony Orchestra. Hannah has been very successful with piano competitions, winning various sections at the South Suburban Music Society Eisteddfod, North of Perth Music Festival, Fremantle eisteddfod and she has won the Overall Best Junior Performer Award at the WA Pianists Competition and Overall Best Junior Pianist in the North of Perth Music Festival. Due to her success at the WA Pianists Competition, Hannah has been invited and performed at Carnegie Hall in New York in 2016 as guest artist in conjunction with the Golden Key Music Festival. Hannah has also won first prize at the Grand Prize Virtuoso International Music competition and performed in Metallener Saal, Musikverein, Vienna in 2015. She has also participated in masterclasses under Ingrid Fliter and performed at Summer Festival in Imola, Italy in 2016. In 2017, Hannah won first prize at the Concours International Piano Competition in Paris and Global Youth Pianists Competition in China. Earlier 2018, Hannah won second prize at the Chopin International Piano Competition in Hartford Connecticut, USA. Hannah has just returned from China after performing Beethoven piano concerto no. 1 with the Wuhan Philharmonic Orchestra.

Vevina Yang

13 year old, Vevina started learning the piano at the age of 4 and came to Yoon Sen Lee Music School under the tutelage of Stephanie Huang in 2009 at the age of 5. At the age of 8, Vevina went under the tutelage of Yoon Sen Lee.

At the age of 10, Vevina won a Gold Medal at the American Association for the Development of the Gifted and Talented International Young Musicians’ Festival 2015 held in New York. She also won Silver Medal at the American Protégé International Piano Competition. Vevina performed at Carnegie Hall in New York in March 2015.

Locally, she has won many different music competitions such as Fremantle Eisteddfod, North of Perth Music Festival, South Suburban Music Society Eisteddfod, City of Cockburn Eisteddfod, Yamaha Piano Competition and West Australian Pianists Competition (WAPC).

Vevina passed the AMEB grade 8 piano examination at the age of 10 with A+ High Distinction. She has also been learning the violin since 2015 and is playing at grade 8 level.
